Scope of repair work


Basic repair scope at no extra charge:


Inspection of the ABS control unit by our experienced technicians. Reading the error log. Searching for and verifying the causes of the errors. Visual inspection of all mechanical parts.


Standard replacement of the error-prone original pressure sensors installed in the ABS control unit, which were state-of-the-art when the motorcycles were delivered, and installation of modern and durable ceramic pressure sensors. The high-quality ceramic pressure measuring cells with integrated microprocessors we use have been specially optimized for repairing the ABS control unit of the affected BMW motorcycle series. This effectivly resolves the design flaw of the immature pressure sensors, which regularly leads to problems with this unit.

Inspection and repair of the electronic control unit (ECU). Elimination of any other mechanical faults in the unit. Replacing the seals on the device, e.g., pump seals, shaft seals. Cleaning the device.

Finally, reassembly and testing of the ABS control unit on a specially developed test bench according to BMW manufacturer specifications.

All labor and spare parts, such as pressure sensors, pressure sensor housings, etc., are included in the repair scope. High-quality and stable packaging.


Extended Repair Scope:


In addition to the work performed during the basic repair: Installation of two reconditioned original pump motors into the pressure modulator.


This includes in detail:
Disassembly of the pump motors and cleaning of the individual parts in an ultrasonic bath. Reconditioning of all pump motor parts. If necessary: ​​Replacement of worn parts, such as ball bearings, brushes, etc.
Inspection of the motors for imbalance. Realignment of the motors, if necessary. Installation of the reconditioned parts and functional testing of the reconditioned pump motor by our experienced technicians. All labor and spare parts included in the repair scope.

We recommend the extended repair scope for all devices as an effective measure to extend the service life of the control unit and your motorcycle, regardless of condition and mileage.

The extended repair scope is necessary if the control unit already shows significant signs of wear. In our experience, this is often the case when the motorcycle has a mileage of 40,000 km or more. Even with lower mileage, an extended repair scope may be absolutely necessary if there is significant damage, such as carbonized pump motors, heavily worn brushes, worn collectors, or water damage to the device.


Additional information on ECU replacement:




In very rare cases, the device's control electronics (ECU) may be irreparably damaged, e.g., due to water or brake fluid ingress, or a short circuit. If the device's ECU needs to be replaced in this case, an additional charge of €275.00 net will be incurred.

This affects approximately 2-3% of the repairs we perform. In this rare case, we will inform you before starting work and ask if you wish to have the work carried out.

Installation instructions:
Please remove the accessories from the device. (holders, hoses, etc.) Empty the brake fluid reservoir (turn the appliance upside down and allow it to drain). Wrap the unit in an absorbent cloth and protect the appliance plug from damage and brake fluid. When reinstalling, use new gaskets and clips for the brake line quick-release fasteners (available on the right side of ACCESSORIES).
