The device replaces the standard ABS II of the manufacturer FTE and is installed in the motorcycle instead. It hydraulically connects the brake circuits, so the brake system works as usual without ABS system.
The built-in electronics ensure that all electronic functions of the motorcycle are maintained and function faultlessly without the ABS control unit. The ABS warning lights stay off. This is then like a vehicle that is equipped without ABS.
However, the ABS function (control) is not available. The braking power and braking force is available without restriction. The device has a wear-free design and thus ensures a long service life for your BMW motorcycle.
Another advantage is the weight saving of about 5 kg. So the original part weighs 5.5 kg, our RH second life KIT only 0.5 kg.
The installation location and connection of all cables and plugs is the same as for the original unit. Thus the backfitting to the original ABS device is possible at any time without large rebuilding expenditure.
The conversion is possible with all motorcycles, which were available at that time also without ABS to order. The device is also suitable for BMW trailer conversions (tricycles).
Admission / Exams:
There is no approval for the Second life Kit offered by us. We expressly point out that the "General Operating Permit" expires with installation in an appropriate motorcycle with road approval.
The kit is therefore only suitable for racing purposes or for individual approvals with appropriate registration. For the hydraulic connectors of the brake lines there is a Dekra certificate that comes with the kit.
