Scope of repair
Repair variant 1 (Basic version without extra charge):

Checking of the ABS control unit by our experienced technicians. Reading out the error memory. Searching for and checking the causes of errors. Visual inspection of all mechanical parts.

Standard replacement of the error-prone original pressure sensors installed in the ABS control unit, which were state-of-the-art at the time of motorcycle delivery, with the installation of modern and durable ceramic pressure sensors. The high-quality ceramic pressure measuring cells we use, are equipped with an integrated microprocessor. They have been specially developed and optimized for the repair of the ABS control unit of the affected BMW motorcycle series. This effectively resolves the design problem of the immature pressure sensors present at the time of motorcycle delivery, which regularly leads to issues with this device.

Inspection and repair of the device's electronic control (ECU). Elimination of any further mechanical faults in the device. Replacement of the seals on the device, e.g., pump seals, shaft seals. Cleansing of the device.

Finally, assembly and testing the ABS control unit on a specially developed test stand according to BMW manufacturer specifications.

All labor time and replacement parts, such as pressure sensors, housings for pressure sensors, etc., are included in the repair scope.

✶✶Repair variant 2 (Extended repair scope):

In addition to the work performed during the basic repair: Installation of two refurbished original pump motors into the pressure modulator.

In detail this includes:
Disassembly of the pump motors and cleaning of the individual parts in an ultrasonic bath.
Reconditioning of all parts of the pump motors. If necessary: Replacement of worn parts, such as ball bearings, brushes, etc.
Inspection of the motors for imbalance. Planning of the motors, if necessary.
Installation of the reconditioned parts and functional testing of the fully overhauled pump motor by our experienced technicians.
All labor and spare parts are included in the repair scope.

We recommend the extended repair scope for all devices as an effective measure to extend the lifetime of the control unit and your motorcycle, regardless of condition and mileage.

The extended repair scope is necessary if the control unit already shows significant signs of wear. In our experience, this is often the case with motorcycles with 40,000 km or more on the clock. Even with lower mileage, the extended repair scope may be mandatory if there is significant damage, such as carbonized pump motors, heavily worn brushes, worn collectors, or water damage to the device.

🛈Additional information on ECU replacement: Additional costs of €275.00 net or €327.25 gross (including 19% VAT) may arise in the rare case where the device's control electronics (ECU) are irreparably damaged, e.g., by water, brake fluid, or a short circuit, and the device's ECU must therefore be replaced. This affects approximately 3% of the repairs we perform. In this case, we will inform you before starting work and ask if you wish to have the work carried out.
